Curriculum
During the first year all students complete the following core forensic science courses.
Year 1
Fall and Spring
- Forensic instrumental analysis (LAB)
- Forensic science proseminar
- Trace evidence and microscopic analysis (LAB)
- Forensic analysis of pattern evidence (LAB)
- Forensic biology (LAB)
- Drug analysis and toxicology (LAB)
- Techniques for crime scene investigation (LAB)
Additionally, students may be required to complete stem work as a condition of their acceptance. To avoid this, review Model Career Path & Recommended Courses (link).
Summer
- Forensic Science Internship
Year 2
Fall and Spring
- Seminar in forensic science
- Principles of quality assurance and ethical conduct in forensic science
- Law and forensic science
- Statistics CJ research / Biostatistics

During the second year, students are required to complete additional core forensic science topics and research. They are also encouraged to pursue their specific interests by selecting additional coursework in the form of electives:
